What is the GSM on your microfiber cloths so GSM stands for grams per square meter and it’s kind of like the benchmark the measuring stick that you use for microfiber for quality the lower the GSM the lower the quality the less weight your cloth has the higher the GSM the more quality your cloth has now when we put our cloths together we tested several different GSM so that we could pick the one that made the most sense and we didn’t want to deliver too much because then it would affect cost and we didn’t want to deliver too little because then it would affect quality so we found that real goldilocks and our general purpose cloth clocks in at a whopping GSM which is definitely premium when you compare it to the other stuff that’s out there our double sided utility cloth that is way up there and then other cloths like your glass cleaning cloth because it doesn’t have that pile the GSM doesn’t need to so high so that is a great comparator when you’re shopping for microfiber cloths if you’re curious check the GSM and by the way all of that information is available on our website makers clean comm while your makers cost so much more expensive.

I’m glad that this question was asked and I’ll tell you why because everything comes with a price if you want the really inexpensive ones you can go to the dollar store or a big-box store and pick up inexpensive microfiber cloths that you can hold up to the light see right through they won’t pick up dirt they won’t pick up bacteria they’ll leave streaks and limp behind and they’ll just act like a crappy old rag but if you get great quality microfiber the ones that professional cleaners use to get the job done right in much less time that’s when you’re really going to notice the benefit of microfiber and the reason we brought our products to market is because we didn’t see any of that out there but we knew that people wanted to clean that way so they are more expensive because they have to be they cost more to manufacture they’re thicker they’re heavier and we use better material so in order to bring this product to market and make it as great as it is we had to charge the appropriate price point for it because it was costing us to make them love your articless keep them coming question can I use vinegar or hydrogen peroxide with the microfiber cloths vinegar shouldn’t be a problem.

I’ve using I’ve been using vinegar for years with mine totally fine in terms of hydrogen peroxide when I use hydrogen peroxide I tend to use it with a rag because I use it to remove stains because I know it does have the capability to bleach something I wouldn’t use it with my microfiber cloths but if you’re okay with the potential for something to be bleached I think it would be fine what’s the obsession with youtubers in microfiber I just use old cloths or rags to clean okay so the obsession with microfiber is it works it works way better than a rag if you were to cut up an old t-shirt and clean a surface you’d be spending way more time cleaning because the rag or the old piece of clothing that you were using a clean wouldn’t be absorbent it would leave streaks and lint behind you would have or work to do plus it doesn’t have the scrubbing power of the polishing power and it would leave bacteria behind on a surface I hope I’ve given you enough reasons to understand why people are so obsessed with microfiber it’s because it works I love microfiber cloths.

But I heard they’re bad for the environment is that true we had asked this question this is probably one of the most hotly debated topics about microfiber and cleaning so as many of you know I run a professional cleaning business I’ve seen it all I know what goes in to a cleaning I know how much waste and garbage is generated that’s one of the reasons why I loved microfiber cloths sorry I keep looking over here there’s a whole table full of them that’s one of the reasons why I’ve loved microfiber cloths for so long because rather than having to use a bunch of disposable you know cleaning cloths and paper towel and that kind of stuff you can use these cloths and put so much less stuff in the garbage at the end of a cleaning not only that these last for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of washes you don’t need to buy as many now are there issues with them yes and we are aware of them and I also want to tell you we have challenged our factory in many different ways because environmental stewardship and responsibility is really important to us so we’ve asked them to investigate packaging we’ve asked them to investigate input can we use recyclable materials for a microfiber cloths we’re working on that they’re also looking into increasing or decreasing I should say the amount of time these cloths take to biodegrade there are a lot of great things that we have challenged our factories to do that they are actively doing because they understand how important this issue is and they know it’s important to us when we talk about micro plastics going into the waterways according to our research the people who we’ve spoken to and we are well connected in the microfiber community this is what we have been told and this is what we have found the biggest culprit with micro plastics coming from us as consumers has to do with our clothing the stuff that we wear that is poly which is not a natural material any polish moly anything that you put in the washing machine that didn’t come naturally is going to shed microbe classics and put those back into the waterways so just because these cloths are called microfiber cloths I think they’ve sort of earned a bad reputation because they have that word microfiber micro fibers get into the waterways micro plastics but the cloths aren’t actually the biggest culprit it’s all of the yoga pants and the clothing that we wear that we wash that should wrap up a lot about microfiber cloths for you.
